![]() All of this combines to make for my favourite WW2 RTS. Adds many new options in the command tree and provides a much better damage system. The mod vastly upgrades the unit options with many new custom skins and models. There are a few things you might want to know before trying the mod for the first time and ahead I’ll go through some set-up tips and then a brief guide on getting some good strategies going to take on those Very Hard bots. The same goes for heavy armoured units, suddenly that panzerschreck is something to be feared as it can take out even you best tank with a well-placed hit. I have found it to be a favourite of mine for playing at small LANs or with a few friends from Steam. ![]() You’ll get none of that in Blitzkrieg as you’ll quickly see the entire squad become pinned and mowed down. Take for example machine-gun emplacements, normally if you come across one you can get away with sprinting some infantry past. Blitzkrieg mod fixes much of this and makes for a far more tactical game than with your standard CoH. You never get that feeling of power from an MG42 or that heavy mortar squad. The one down-side I find with standard Company of Heroes is the lack of power on some of the weaponry and the toughness of some of the vehicles. ![]() With it’s intense objective based combat and a plethora of different tanks, infantry, defensive structures and weaponry at your disposal, it always makes for an exciting and challenging game. Released in 2009, Company of Heroes remains to this day as one of the most enjoyable and rewarding realistic RTS strategy games out there. ![]()
